Easy “Live Mode” toggle for faster tracking updates

Hello,

I really like your app petovic and use it to track my horse for safety reasons.
One feature that would make a huge difference would be a simple “Live Mode” button to quickly change the location update interval.

For example:
• In normal mode, updates every 5–10 minutes to save battery.
• When needed (e.g. if the animal escapes), I could tap “Live Mode” to get updates every few seconds in real time, then switch back to “Eco Mode” afterward.

This would make the app much more practical for real-world use and safety situations.
Ideally, the switch should work instantly in the app without sending manual SMS commands.

Thank you for considering this idea — I believe many users would really appreciate this option!

Yes, this can be a great feature.
But there are a few issues. We support a large number of different device models.
The data transmission frequency depends only on the device itself, and our system does not limit how often data is received. Whatever the device sends — we are ready to receive and display it.

Changing the data transmission frequency from the application side can only be done by sending GPRS commands to the device. The device must be able to accept these commands and switch its operating mode. Many devices support this capability.

In Ruhavik, we have implemented a feature for sending commands directly from the interface, using a special tool — the Commands Panel. This means you can make your device send data more frequently right from the application, if your device supports this functionality.

In this case, if you write to us at support@gps-trace.com and provide the unit ID or the email of your account, we can check whether your device supports such commands and if it’s possible to use this feature.

However, unfortunately, the implementation of such functionality in Petovik is unlikely, as we are gradually phasing out support for this solution.
