SinoTrack ST-915 powers off after a few minutes of moving

Hi there. I’m wondering if anyone can help with an issue I have. I bought a second-hand SInoTrack ST-915 a few weeks ago and have spent hours testing it with various settings. With whatever settings I use, the device powers off after a few minutes of continuous movement. If I move it from one place to another and then leave it there, it’s fine. It’s only when it’s being moved continuously for about 5 minutes or more that it powers off. Sending it an SMS does not wake it. Popping the SIM card in out and in does not wake it. Shaking it or moving it further does not wake it. The only think that will wake it is plugging a USB cable in to charge it up. It then wakes immediately and registers back on the mobile network.

Here’s the current settings (with my mobile and the device number asterisked out and a couple of spaces added to stop the emojis):

ChrisL, Hello,

As we can see in your configuration, the tracker works in MODE:GPRS-MOVE.
As we checked, this mode works only for movement, that is, the tracker works only in movement mode and 5 minutes after waking up.
Try to set a WORK mode.

Unfortunately, we cannot advise you specifically on setting up your device. For configuration commands, contact the manufacturer or seller, you can also see the necessary commands in the manual for the device.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll try WORK mode, but was hoping to use MOVE for the power saving feature it is supposed to deliver. I’ve ended up buying a different device as unless I can work out what’s how to resolve this issue, this one is pretty useless to me.

In this case it’s better to contact manufacturer or dealer of the device, most likely they will give you more information about the possibilities of this device and guide you on how to customize the device to suit your needs.
