Dear jesperthamm
In your case you can try to do the following:
- Make sure the SIM card is activated by a short call to it (if you have a pay-as-you-go plan)
- Make sure that the SIM card has internet traffic and a balance to use it.
- Ensure your phone has the “show caller id” option enabled, otherwise you will not get any response from your tracker.
- If the tracker is located in a shielded area (underground parking, tunnel, indoors), it may also not see satellites and therefore not see the GPS signal. Therefore, also try to go outside with the tracker and walk with it so that the tracker can see the satellites.
For questions about the operation of the tracker, you’d better contact the manufacturer or seller of the tracker directly. It is they who have the most comprehensive expertise on these issues.
If you have additional questions, please let us know we will try to help you.

Today I tried to install a sim card from my other car which is also installed with a conan 303 gps and works fine and green light is flashing, but when I install the sim card ( no code ) in the trouble car it doesent work and green light i constant lighting. Is it possible to restart the gps and install all codes again ?
Dear jesperthamm,
If we understand correctly, then you have a problem with the operation of the SIM card.
In this case, you better contact your mobile operator.
If you want to reboot the tracker, of course you can do so. After this, you will need to make sure that it is configured to send data to the appropriate server and port, it has an APN configured according to the mobile operator and the time zone is UTC 0.
If you have any questions about setting up the tracker please write to us at support@gps-trace.com with the login, unit ID, screenshot of device configuration (SMS commands and device’s answers) and link to this topic, then we will try to check additionally and help you.
Hi Kuta. Thanks for your reply. I dont think its a SIM problem, Sim card works fine in my other tracker with no problems. Where can I read about how to reboot . Unfortunately I cant take screenshot of device configuration because I dont get contact to gps. Maybe just easier to by a new gps ? Best regards Jesper
Dear jesperthamm
According the instructions for the Coban GPS303-G tracker if when no WCDMA/GSM reception, green led ON.
GPS trackers rely on satellites to provide location data. If there is no GPS signal in the area, the tracker will not be able to provide accurate location data. GPS signals may be obstructed by tall buildings, heavy foliage, or other natural or artificial obstructions. There may also be a problem with where in the car and how the tracker is located. For example, it is located in a shielded metal box, etc.
So please, check the location of the tracker and try moving with tracker to an open area with a clear view of the sky.
Regarding commands for the tracker (including restart), it is best for you to contact the tracker manufacturer directly. Also, such commands are often described in the instructions for the tracker https://content.gps-trace.com/assets/a901d022-d937-4543-afef-e9a1a4dc4c7e.
If you have further questions, please let us know.
I already tried to mount my other tracker with sim card in the car where green light was lighting all the time. Works fine with tracker from the other car. Mounted tracker back in car with sim card from working tracker, the green light is on all time and not responding. It means that sim card is working and gps signal ok, but cant get contact with tracker.
Where to contact manufacturer directly ?
