Hi All,
I have a cheap chinese TK102 and it has been connected to Ruhavik via offered IP address and port number:
IP server Host: 185.213.2.30
Port: 26731
The tracker is shown as online device (green dot near by device on the map), the status refresh time is changed periodically, but the position can only be updated once and only when I call it. So I always have to call it if I want to see the current position on the map.
The fix has been set up via the next SMS command: fix020s***n+password

How do I configure the tracker to update the position continuously?

While the tracker is successfully connected to our platform (as evidenced by the green status), it seems the automatic position update configuration needs adjustment. The command you’re using (fix020s***n+password) appears to be attempting to set a 20-second interval, but might not be working as expected.

Since this is a specific device configuration issue, we recommend:

    • Double-check the exact SMS command format in your tracker’s manual, as different versions of TK102 might use slightly different command formats.
    • Contact the device manufacturer or seller for the correct command syntax for continuous position updates, as they are most familiar with their product’s specific features and configuration.
    • Ensure your SIM card has sufficient balance and data allowance for frequent position updates.

If you continue to experience issues please write to us at support@gps-trace.com with the login, unit ID, screenshot of device configuration (SMS commands and device’s answers) and link to this topic, then we will try to check additionally and help you.

Thank you for your quick and useful reply.
Unfortunately, the seller is no longer available, as I ordered the device from China back in 2016. 🙁
So following the troubleshooting steps you wrote, I searched the internet for all TK102 clones descriptions and found another SMS command for one of them in the user manual.
I used the command fix030s… (the tracker responded OK !!!), but the correct command format for this tracker is t030s….
I tried it and it works fine now.

      Many thanks for your help.
