TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

Say what?
I've created an easy setup application for the TLT-2H/2F/2K/2N GPS Tracker using Android App Inventor. Just to play around with the new Google MIT tool. And, even better, it saves me from typing all these SMS commands everytime. What was it to request the current location? What command sends the last 24h history to gps-trace orange? How do you set the ..... Just press some buttons and the application creates the valid command to send.

What to expect?
Also, I've included most of the common commands like add phone number 1, you can edit the commands later by typing a 2 or 3 if you want to add more numbers. Just about all the commands I could find in different versions of the manuals available (201092165118333, 1.5,1.52,v500,mt202, v1.60, v1.8,v2.0,v3.0). And ofcourse all of the other online sources I've found too.

TLT-what what device?
This application is designed for the V-Sun TLT-2H device. There are (as far as I know) two models on the markets in various versions. The app I wrote is designed for the TLT-2H5. I don't know if it'll work correctly with the TLT-2H3. As far as Android goes, you'll need the ability to send and receive SMS messages. Any version ranging from 1.6 to 4.1.1 is tested and works. Other versions will work as wel. Try it! smile

It works fine also with my Iticar ITI-M also know as TT-M110 GPS system tracker.- Seems to be same software inside.

What's not in the app?
won't be added

> 667, I can't read chinese, can you?
will be added (check latest version notes below)
> 140,141,142,143, distance statistics
> 170,171, calling limit
> 210,211, round fence
> 310,311, square fence
> 111, base station information
> 55x, base station quantity
> 665, daily timing report
> post a reply if you know more commands

Show me the screenies!
» setup screen
» main screen

In conclusion
Feel free to try it. This little app can save you a lot of time, instead of setting up the device manually. And you don't have to browse those terrible manuals yourself. Three years ago there was nothing like this available on the market, that's why I decided to create an App myself. Currently there's another option in the App Store. But this one is limited to only one device and has ads! Nevertheless it's definitely a great App too.

How about updates?
You can update your current version by browsing to this page or scanning the barcode. Reinstalling a newer version over an older (or the same) version prevents your custom program settings (My Settings screen) from being erased. So don't uninstall the app first before downloading a newer one. The My App settings will be saved this way. Or you can click the update button from the App settings.

Why not going MarketPlace?
I've created this little App primary for myself and thought it would be nice to share it with other TLT-2H/2F/2K/2N users. Sharing my App this way is quite easy to maintain. Updates are also no longer an issue. You can click update from within the App.

Latest version:
2013-07-22
+ brackets around gps location for use with new Google Maps
+ tracker number is clickable to call
+ added dialog box for speed alert
2013-07-04
+ removed menu "Cut-off power and oil". menu can be enabled from app settings.
2013-06-16
+ correction to width of App Settings page
+ trackers not in use (number and alias) aren't shown. up to 5 entries can be saved
2013-05-23
+ replaced the update button
+ orange background over selected tracker number
+ text fixes again
2013-03-01
+ new update button (update from inside the app)
+ /update function removed (there's an update button now)
+ extra help texts
+ extra helpt texts for received sms alerts
+ (added) a "receiving enabled" trigger to the App Settings screen. This does work as it should in Android 4.0.4 and 4.1.1
+ (fixed) sent/received messages total count; press selected tracker from the main screen to enable this field

Download the current version
You can use your barcode scanner to download the application.

Great to see that you like it.

As far as your Windows Mobile question. I'm not planning to go Windows any time soon.

IMEI/hardwareID is used by the device to identify itself on the server you are logging to

The Easy Setup Tool doesn't need the IMEI code to setup any of your devices. Setup commands are sent by SMS (devices' phonenumber) and you need a passcode (gps device passcode) to verify you are authorised to sent commands to the GPS device.

Very usefull tool!! Can you share the app inventor code so we can tweak and contribute in development??!! That would be super!! You can organise a topic for everyone to contribube or make his own version and posting individual code. Some version numbering would be nice too. like a comunity job! I already have some ideas to share, like TLT-2H model selection for custom command sets and nice UI. Again, nice job!

Hi arisgardelis,

It's nice to read that you like it too!

I do use versions to identify which application you're using. You can check the date in the disclaimer at the bottom of the application. The current version is 2011/04/22, the oldest goes back to october 2010. Right now, there's only one "version" around. But yes, I do modify it from time to time, adding a new features (like the multiple tracker numbers option) or replacing mistakes in earlier builds (grammar or code).

All I wanted to do is build an app to let you (uh, me) setup and manage the tlt-2h device without the need of the terrible manuals. So for me it's just a setup, mode-switch and manage app. Tracking and stuff can be done with the sites and services provided by gps-strace.com.

And it came out quite fine, so I thought it would be nice to share it with the world. (hello world! ... smile

Let me think about sharing the code.

arisgardelis wrote:

I think it's better the way it is .. I'm also not making any money with it so it's ok
it's no difficult code, just some put-them-together blocks

I'd put together some example programs
combined with some extra stuff of my own (things that weren't worked out already)
and a little try to make it look at least a bit alright

it would be better to write it the usual way w/o the app designer
to make a little bit faster and a lot smaller, but hey; it works. it's just a little tool

thnx, hope it helps save some time

that would be neat, I guess. 'read some how-to articles about it
but I haven't found the time to work it out (summertime, "go-outside-weather" you know.....)

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

Hi,

In the My Settings page, i presume "GPS number" is where i store the cell phone number of the Sim card inside the TLT-2H?  However, the field "GPS Number" only accepts alfanumeric letters, no numbers. And what is the meaning of the field "User gsm number"?

Hi pwhooftman ,

It shouldn't accept any input. You can add up to three trackers numbers below. By touching the button in front of these three numbers it's being transfered to the "GPS number" field.

The "User gsm number" field is where you enter your mobile's number. Or the number of another device you want to receive sms-alerts on. You can sent commands from any sms-enabled device as long as you know the trackers password.

edit:
I've changed the names of these fields. It should be better now.

I guess.  roll

You can try to compare the command sets. I think they should be (more or less) the same. -but- there are differences in between "tlt-2h" devices also.

You could make a generic one (several configurable labels/ buttons) and sell it easyly in Andoid market. Unfortunately I dont have your skills to try. Cheers

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

Hi - Thats a great idea for an app, however I cannot get it working correctly.
After doing setup and apply, it will not assemble the commands correct. For example if I use the "set apn address" command, all I get is "#803####" whereas the correct command should be "#803#<mypin>#<myapn>##" (no apn username and password)

Also If I try to enable powersave mode all I get is "100" where it should be "100<mypin>"..

if's like it won't merge the text in my settings with the actual commands.
I have tested this on two different devices (LG Optimus 2x, running MoDaCo ROM, and HTC Desire, running Cyanogenmod 7).

Can you help me?

I also like free software, and I like Open Source software even more. That way you wouldn't have to stand alone with all the work. Others could make suggestions on code changes, feature improvements, and such. Have you considered this a possibility?

I haven't seen this error before on my devices. Can't find anything in the manuals also. Do you have a newer version? Since AGPS isn't one of the functions I expect on the tlt-2h.

to make a long story short; not for this tiny project ..

corrections, better coding, translations, subversions for other sms-config-based devices, could make it a better project. true

ha you're right again

This didn't came to my attention earlier because I had some old db entries stored, while I only changed the commands but not the corresponding list items. So, in short we had two 805 and 809 command sets, while the correct ones weren't applied.

I'll update the APK file asap apk file update, done!

thnx big_smile

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

Great work xdajul big_smile

Now onto other things - is anyone else but me having problems getting the "move defence" function working?
I have the following config after sending "008xxxxR1.0":

Code:

MOVE:1.0,ON
ACC PROMPT:ON

... but when I try to move the car without ACC on (I have a test rig, with a button so I can test this), it never calls the number i've set.

I know that it's working otherwise, because with DEFENCE:ON I get a call, when external power is removed. Also normal tracking events are uploaded to gps-trace in both ACC ON/OFF, so GPS and GPRS is working fine.

I can also activate the manual geo-fence funtion (005 and 211), and get a call, when I leave the set radius, but I normally keep that function off.

Instead I just want the device to update it's location every time ACC goes off, and send an alarm if it leaves the set radius using the 008 command.

Has anyone had success with this?

No I work in GPRS mode... and yes I should receive an alert according to the manual ... not by SMS, but the device will supposedly call the presaved numbers and upload the status to the server: But it doesn't work.
The function is described both in the SMS section and the GPRS section of the manual.

From the manual (i really hate posting such bad english but here it goes):

After configuration of the alarm for moving is complete, if TLT-2H checking the ACC State is
changed which from ACC ON to ACC OFF, after three minutes, the TLT-2H will take the current
position for the coordiration point, the unit will open the defence(use the zzz.z) whether the GPS
Data is Available or Valid .
when the ACC is OFF, if TLT-2H checking the car over the defence,in the SMS Mode, the
TLT-2H will send a message to the pre-saved numbers what the state is "STATE:ACC OS" (the
unit will send the current position to the server, the state is "ACC OS",and call the pre-saved numers,
the 150/151 comamnd will affect the unit that whether call the pre-saved numbers. if you reset the
unit, the unit will only send message and don't call numbers) ,once the car coming the defence, the
unit will send current position information to the server or send message and call the pre-saved
numbers, and the state is "ACC RS"

I am also using GPRS mode.

Minigranis what version do you have?  *SWVER#
I'm on V3.02.160F4 from 2011/05/13

I think it's a bug in the firmware, but I cannot upgrade it to the newer version. I wrote v-sun an email a couple of days ago, but so far no response.

It should be by submitting an empty record. But for my devices this doesn't work. the best thing to do is to start from reset.

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

I wrote to two different persons at V-Sun, both said no to sending me a firmware upgrade.
Latest response I got from V-Sun:

The "Towed Alarm" (command 181), is the latest addition to the function. Version V3.02.168 have this feature.
Because V-sun's not allowed to send firmware upgrades to customers, so we can not send the software to you. If you want a software upgrade, you need to send to us. Or you can re-buy TLT-2H.

I guess it's a negative on upgrading the firmware ourselves... I only hope they change their minds some day.

catlover:
Can you specify which features you are talking about, that is not documented for TLT-2H?

The only features I can find is the Handset/monitoring function (000/001) (which seems irrelevant for TLT-2H since it cannot connect to a handset).

Then the description of the call restriction function (170/171) - I agree that is missing for TLT-2H documentation, but it's hardly a "cool" feature.

Scanning the manual (post miwer) I found these commands. They don't work for me, but they'll probably do on newer devices.

In short; There's something new with geofences, a mileage counter, a new alarm (trailer alarm) function, more energy savind options (only gps savings are possible on older firmwares) and more settings for correct timezone readings.

It's best to go to v-sun.cc and open the manual from the downloads menu.

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

Bad news for anyone wanting to upgrade the firmware in their TLT-2H devices:

After looking inside my unit I discover that the microcontroller is an EM78P163N, which is a One Time Programmable Read Only Memory (OTP-ROM). So even if we had a firmware update for it, I don't think we'd be able up update it, due to the nature of OTPs. The chip would have to be physically replaced with another one, programmed with the updated code.

I would love to be proven wrong on this though

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

You can stop the message by sending *AGPSDIS#0000## where 0000 is your tracker password. This will disable AGPS updates completely, and GPS fix will take longer time (only when powered on) - but since it's not working, it doesn't make a difference anyway...

Got this info directly from v-s*n.

I'm guessing the enable command should be: *AGPSEN#0000## (based on info from other manuals on the internet)

Edit: masking the company name a bit...

Thanks for the tip.
The previous way I found somewhere in the internet was to let blank the first phone number registered in the device.
It worked but your tip is the proper way to deal with it big_smile

What I meant was, that this is only a potential problem when the device is cold booting, or power saving features on the GPS module is activated, and everytime the GPS module is waking up (I have noticed this myself, that the car can run for a couple of kilometeres, before getting a fix).

Bonus info 1:
By watching the debug messages on the serial interface it seems that the device tries to download AGPS data from agps.chinaradio.hk - since that DNS address doesn't even resolve to anything, it's no wonder AGPS is not working.

v-s*n told me that it was a bug in the firmware version that I use... but they wouldn't tell me how to upgrade it.

Say what?
I've created an easy setup application for the TLT-2H GPS Tracker using Android App Inventor. Just to play around with the new Google tool.

Just about all the commands I could find in different versions of the manuals available (201092165118333, 1.5,1.52,v500,mt202, v1.60, v1.8). And ofcourse all of the other online sources I've found too.

What's not in the app?

(some will be added in time..................)

Any version ranging from 1.6 to 2.2.x is tested and works. Other versions will work as wel. I guess smile

Show me the screenies!
» setup screen
» main screen

In conclusion
Feel free to try it. This little app can save you a lot of time, instead of setting up the device manually. And you don't have to browse those terrible manuals yourself.

How about updates?
You can update your current version by browsing to this page or scanning the barcode. Reinstalling a newer version over an older (or the same) version prevents your custom program settings (My Settings screen) from being erased. So don't uninstall the app first before downloading a newer one.

Why not going MarketPlace?
The MarketPlace is a big f#cking mess already and I don't want to create an even bigger mess. smile But, maybe I'll decide different later on. Also, I made this tool for myself and thought it would be nice to share it with other TLT-2H users. Sharing it this way is quite easy to maintain.

Latest version:
2011/11/18
+ corrected some command errors (thnx Miwer!)

Download the latest version
You can use your barcode scanner to download the application.

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

hi Evangelos,

+ maybe not in sms mode (but it looks like you are)
+ maybe not to far out the geo-fence (0.1 should be 6m, maybe it a too small number)
+ maybe a wrong set geofence (E or W, N or S. try setting it manual)
+ maybe a misconfigured phone number in 1, 2 or position 3

* defence is about battery power
* calling is about ringing the phonenumbers (1,2,3)
+ so most of the settings above do like alright indeed.

* You can also try the MOVE DEFENCE and TRAILER alarms. I've given up on the built-in geo-fence functions -> gps-trace.com does a better job on that.

It works fine also with my Iticar ITI-M also know as TT-M110 GPS system tracker.- Seems to be same software inside.
I will try to list all the available function syntaxes soon and list them.

1/
I found a new SMS function usefull listed for major GPS system, working also with mine. Maybe you could add it to your software in the "General Setup", as "get configuration" ? :

*RCONF#

request for GPS configuration; returns  5 SMS with current configuration.

2/
Concerning your function set apn address, your syntax is (I supposed this syntax was right, if and only if no user and password needed)

#803#0000#apn##

Concerning the function set apn credentials your syntax is

#803#0000#user#password#

-- This second syntax doen't work with my TT-M110. Does it work with your GPS Tracker?  I've read on user manuals that first syntax may be also

#803#0000#apn#user#password##

-- Can you check please your syntax - Maybe an # is missing at the end?

Thanks for help on those #803 syntaxes variations.

If you need any help for testing (excluding GPRS, which I have no SIM rights), do not hesitate to ask.

Sincerely
Hervé

So I confirm you there may be some mistakes in the softwareTLT-2H (version 21-12-2011)

I've entered in the settings
APN as apn
USR as user and PWD as password for a try

So I get in the menus General Setup:
- For set apn address : #803#0000#APN## <= I was expecting 804 command
- For set apn credentials : #803#0000#USR#PWD## which is ok
but if I have no user and password int the settings, this syntaxe becomes #803#0000### <= one # is missing.

As a conclusion, I guess in the actual release "apn address" only command should be 804 instead of 803 and for no usr/pwd one # is missing (maybe the fact that with no usr#pwd in the setting, empty field, this middle # between usr and pwd is not copied in the final syntax). Please check.

Thanks again for support.
Hervé

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

OUI! c'est vrai! you're correct, 804 for server. 803 for gprs gprs-accesspoint, username and password. mon erreur!

if you don't have to specify a username and password you can fill in a # in the settings screen. this way the command should end with four #'s

the app should be correct. I've uploaded my most recent version today. note that this one is MIT build, not Google build. so you have to delete the Google build application (check the app footnotes) first before installing. from here on you can install any MIT build version OVER the next MIT build version.

MAIS...........................
I don't have any experience with the device you're using. I can only tell from my experience with the TLT-2h devices. they look quite the same on the inside but that doesn't say anything about the components inside and the applied firmware/software.

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

Hi guys.
Could you please explain what measure units this command is using "0080000R100.0"?  (MOVE DEFENCE; STATE: ACCOS or ACCRS).
In this case R100.0 means 100 metres or 100 km?

Ok, thank you. But I already read this. And I'm very confused because it clearly says that the measury unit is KM, but my device sends me alert and sms if it moved by coordinates only for 3-7 meters (condition is set as 0.7 [KM])
So that is why I asking you may be it's 0.7 metres.

I use the fence/alert functionality on the gps-trace.com site

but what happens if you replace 000.7 for 007.0 ?

I've started an app like the Easy Setup but for tk-10x devices also. But since I don't have one of these I didn't finish the project. Great to see there are other options available in the Android Store as well.

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

Dear Sir,

I've dowloaded your release 18-07-2012 on my Samsung Galaxy SII ICS.
I've not uninstalled previous release 2012 and just upgraded.

When I go to :"SMS Command" then ""resquest location", the field 'or enter a command' stays empty. No formatted #... command goes there.

AND

bellow in the field "ready to send action", the first  line indicates well "request location" but the field "Help:" is also empty.

Are those bugs?

[Update] : Seems I HAVE HAD TO DO a long press  tongue on "APPY SETTINGS" so all fields in other menus are updated. Right?
Thank you
Hervé

Say what?
I've created an easy setup application for the TLT-2H GPS Tracker using Android App Inventor. Just to play around with the new Google tool.

18-07-2012
+ disclaimer text
+ forum link fixed
+ text fixes
+ code fixes
+ tested with Android 4.0.3 (yes, I've dropped my previous smartphone...)
+ location from sms will be opened using maps
+ location information (gprs) can be opened using anything you like, maps, browser, etc
+ password change provides a popup to complete the command
+ long press apply setting, to re-apply the help text (can be helpfull when upgrading)

note: if you're already using the TLT-2h Easy Setup App (2011 version), you'll have to uninstall that version first. The 2011 versions are Google built, the 2012 is MIT built.

Download the current version
You can use your barcode scanner to download the application.

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

Hi all,

Could you please explain me in the "General setup" page, what "invalid data upload on" or "invalid data upload off" are ?

FYI: I bought at ITICAR, an ITI-M a few months ago. It was an TT-M110 that is compatible with TLT-2H. I bought two weeks ago another one, but they changed the model. Now they sell ITI-M2 that is an TLT-2S NOT AT ALL compatible with this software in terms of bytes to send as commands.

Thanks
Hervé

I believe it enables or disables the response (6660000) when the tracker can't get a proper gps fix.

I filled all the fields like the defaults except the APN usr#pwd as I am using Orange UK and there aren't any. I did try putting in a # to see if that would work.

Would appreciate some help as I am getting an AGPS update failed! text message ever couple of hours and want to switch it off

ai, that's something we don't want to see. are you still getting this error? (also read below) I don't get this error after pressing [apply] using to text or some text in the APN username#password field. what android version do you use?

that's correct, same for me; when no username or password just enter #

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

Hi all,

For those who are interested, inside the TLT-2H, the 5 pin connector counterpart can be found at Digikey :

Connector model : SHR-05V-S-B by JST Sales America Inc, CONN HOUSING SH 5POS 1MM WHITE.
Connector reference : 455-1380-ND
SHR-05V-S-B

and you need 5 pins

Pins model : SSH-003T-P0.2 by JST Sales America Inc, CONN TERM SH CRIMP 28-32AWG TIN
Pins reference : 455-1561-1-ND
SSH-003T-P0.2

Those pins are very difficult to crimp with AWG28 to AWG32 wire. So the two tools, but huge pricing ( ~$1000) are:
Tool 1 model : YRS-859 by JST Sales America Inc, CRIMP TOOL STRIP FEED
Tool 1 reference : 455-2569-ND
YRS-859
or
Tool 2 model :WC-SH2832 by JST Sales America Inc, TOOL HAND CRIMP FOR MINI SH REEL
Tool 2 reference : 455-1376-ND
WC-SH2832 .

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

Dear all
It seems the internal battery of Tlt-2h only is in charge when apc is on. Said the manual to prevent killing the car battery when car is not on.
Problem : if my motorbike has apc off fir whole winter the tlt-2h goes quickly out of energy.
Is there any sms syntax to enable tlt-2h charging all time even apc off?
Thank you.

Dear all
It seems the internal battery of Tlt-2h only is in charge when apc is on. Said the manual to prevent killing the car battery when car is not on.
Problem : if my motorbike has apc off fir whole winter the tlt-2h goes quickly out of energy.
Is there any sms syntax to enable tlt-2h charging all time even apc off?
Thank you.

I should always connect the TLT-2h to the vehicle's battery. But there are some commands. There's power saving and super power saving on the tlt-2k. Also there's an option to shut down the GPS but then you still drain the tlt-2h's battery from using the gsm chip. And if you shut down the gps receiver what use is the device when stolen?

These are more or less the options you have to extend the battery time/tracker life:
* enable power saving (triggered by vibration)
* enable super powersaving (tlt-2k)
* connect to vehicle battery. on a motorbike (12V/8Ah) you have about 3 weeks and a car far more
* connect a solarpanel to recharge your device in the daytime (I'm playing with this and it actually works like a charm!)

Also if you don't use the car or bike you have to connect it to a battery charger also. When connected to a charger your car/bike and tlt-2h will have all the power they need. And you don't drain any batteries.

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

Hello,
I registered to the forum to congratulate xdajul for this great app.
but I have problem with latest version with my 4.2.1 mobile.
Even if I close the app by exit, the sms receiving function is still working, which is quite annoying.
Is there anyway to fix it?

they changed that part of the 'framework' again, let me look into that issue...

New version 2013-02-13 .. ready to download!

If ....................... :

If you have the App open in the FOREground; the message received from the tracker it was sent to is shown in App.

If you have the App open in the BACKground; the message received from the tracker it was sent to is show in the notification bar.

If you choose "exit application" no extra message icons are appearing in the notification bar.

Thanks for so fast response!!  smile
Will test and provide feedback. BTW, did you make bigger the homescreen of application? Now I have to scroll down to see the last lines of main menu.

Concerning the other post about battery consumption, I already have activated powersaving at my tracker, but yet I have the feeling that the tracker is the reason for finding dead my scooter's battery after 3 days.
Solar power is nice idea, but not when you dont own a private parking place.

do you mean this icon below?
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/4144381/app/_messageReceived.png

if you choose EXIT in the App, you won't see this icon when receiving SMS messages.

do you have the 2013-02-13 version?

try to connect RED and BLACK to your vehicles battery (for constant power)
and GREEN to your ACC or CITY LIGHTS or .. to keep the stopped and moving settings

connect to a 8Ah battery your tracker can last up to three or four weeks
car batteries provide an even longer battery time

I have installed the latest version but I still get the message and the icon after stopping application.
Strange thing is that if I check at running services, I don't see the app running.

I'll change it from Always to Foreground in a new version. This way you won't see the extra icon when the App isn't running, or running in the background. Nevertheless, it should be set to OFF when exiting the App.

Maybe there a difference with this between 4.1.1 and 4.2.1. I can only test using 4.1.1.

edit:
please check the current version available (2013-02-15). There's an extra option in the App Settings screen to set the message received functionality. This setting can be set to one's own preferences.

I replaced previous version with this and it seems to have some problems.
When I start the app I get this pop up message:
"Bad arguments to ReceivingEnabled

The operation Receivingenabled cannot accept the arguments :*empty-string* "

And it let me only press End Application button, which closes the app

True, I have tested two only scenarios:
1. an empty app with no data
2. a non-empty app with data ánd the extra setting (message receiving setting)

but there's another scenario;
3. You don't have this extra setting, yet. So it wants to assign an empty string where there should be a number. My bad!

I've uploaded a 2013-02-15 (2) version. This should fix your issue.

Hi tiencuong,

1. Tracker number: this is the phone number of the simcard inside your tracker
2. Tracker passcode: this is 0000 by default
3. User GSM number: the phone number of the device you want to receive notifications on/the phone you use to configure the tracker
4. APN address: the adres your simcard can use to contact the Internet (Access Point Name)
5. APN username: if you have to specify a username and password for your simcard to connect to the internet
6. Server IP#port: in case of the TLT-2H And Orange.gps-trace.com; 193.193.165.166#20208
7. Receiving Enabled: this is an application setting.

1,4,5 are related to the SIMcard you use for the GPS Tracker
2 is related to the GPS Tracker
6 is related to the service you want to use for tracking
7 is an Application setting

tiencuong wrote:

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

I made an upgrade and I got a Nexus 4 and I would like to comment that your application works fine with Android 2.2
A problem that I have is that after changing the sim card of my gps tracker (previous was working fine, but had more expensive data) I can't make orange site to track my motorbike. Even if I changed at orange site the mobile number at the properties of the tracker, there are no data .
All other commands are working fine through your application, like get position or get settings. I changed the mode to GPRS. Is there some other command that I must use?

Check the format of new SIM, most trackers don't support 3G SIM cards (they have another contacts layout). Also it's better to reset device to factory settings and then set it up from the beginning with new SIM.

Thanks for advice, but new card shouldn't be any different than the previous one.
Any other idea?
maybe server could be an issue? the correct is 193.193.165.166, 20208 ?
how to be sure to activate it again, although I see it at the sms with the settings that I get from tracker for test.

I don't agree.
When swapping a GPS-trackers' SIM-card the things one has to change are:
+ the (APN) GPRS Accesspoint
+ APN-Username
+ APN-Password.

Imei and upload address (193.193.165.166#20208) remain the same because you don't change the device, you change the SIM-card.

=> Try http://id.wialon.net/ to see if your device really sends out data over GPRS.

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

Hey xdajul,
it seems that my card is working after all.
But strange thing after I sent the enable vibration control from your app.
Even if my bike is at my mechanic's place since 3 days ago, I dont get any results from vibration sensor in orange page.
And if I ask to upload position, it brings back the position where it was parked next to my house 5 days ago, but with current date and time.
Maybe the command doesn't work well?

Hi Viper,

This is a TLT-2K only option. Since I own a K-type device I included these specific commands. The vibration control and powersaving will come to the TLT-2H models also. But since you can't upgrade the firmware, this command is useless for you.

edit:

oh, and
And your other question; if the device doesn't acquire a good signal the previous one is sent. This is shown by STATE:A (current) or STATE:V (last known).

edit:

oh, and
WHY it acts this way .. I donno smile

Do you think you could add some option to show only available commands for each unit?
This will save me and other members from searching which commands to use or not.

It's in the help text. "...this TLT-2K command..."

All commands apply to the TLT-2H. Except the just three below;

* SMS Commands > Enable Super Powersave Mode
* GPRS Commands > Enable Vibration Control
* GPRS Commands > Disable Vibration Control

Also note that not all commands apply to all TLT-2H models. Because every firmware is different. If you buy I recent one you can expect all commands to work. If you use an older one not all command might work. That's why I added;

* General Setup > Get Tracker Version

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

Dear All,

As you know most of those commands fits to models TLT-2H/2F/2K/2N GPS Tracker.
As it seems there is no possible upgrade, only latest firmware releases will fits all funtions.
So, the goal is to always buy the latest model to get all the funtions in.

1/
Is there any comparaison chart between the models TLT-2H/2F/2K/2N ? What are the differences both hardware and software?

2/
Is it possible to know the latest available firmawre release on the market and follow it when it increase? No information on
v-sun.cc website.

3/
How to fit the manual release (v3.0 and v3.1 nowadays depending on models) and the firmware of the GPS, to the sure, which funtions are included in?

4/
Where can I buy those models and be sure to have the latest firmware release?

Many thanks for support

Hervé
TLT-2H Softver V3.01.142F4 2010/11/02 & V3.02.172F4 2012/03/13

1 and 4) Only difference between H and F is that F is waterproof.
I bought F model a few weeks ago for my car from ebay at 50pounds from Ebay, directly from China.
DX is not so much trustworthy. All latest orders from them take more than 30 days to Greece and some packages get lost.
I prefer Ebay where most Chinese sellers are selling with tracking and you have always the guerantee of Ebay buyer protection if anything goes wrong.

2) If there is no information at the official website don't expect to find it somewhere else. After all its a Chinese product and the support will always be not so great.

3) A few commands are only different between versions, so for basic use you could use any manual. If you are interested for specific commands and if they apply for your model, you could search or ask at this forum.

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

V-sun.cc support is great! I always get a response and they (he) answers any question I have.

As far as DX goes, they ship quite fast. Never more than a month and most of the time in two weeks. I'm ok with that. But I don't reside in Greece. Maybe that's the issue?

Nothing bad about eBay either .. one has to choose what he/she prefers.

Dx is always very late at their responses, especially when its about refunds.
Never had such problems with other Chinese sellers in Ebay though.
On the other hand, most packets that I order from these sellers arrive in 3 weeks max.

Of course everything above is just my personal experience from Chinese sellers and someone consider all aspects before deciding to buy something.

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

I received recently my new TLT-F model.

xdajul I was wondering if you could change the way we choose profiles through your application. I mean, could it be easier through some menu to change between tracker A and tracker B?
Also, could you include some settings to activate/hide commands depending the tracker model? For example, if tracker A supports less commands then tracker B, to have the option to hide not active commands for each tracker.

Nah, there are only two or three extra commands and they're for the K model. If a command doesn't work the device (firmware) is too old. So either way you'll be ok.

Maybe I should do something with profiles, because now you can choose numbers but all the numbers (trackers) use the same password.

This can be a project when the weather is bad.

Can you explain me please how to switch between 2 different trackers?
I use latest version and in settings I can see both trackers with a phone number for each one.
But on main screen something strange is happening. Under tracker information, next to "selected tracker" field, I have description of tracker B, with phone number of tracker A!  hmm
And I can't find anyway to switch between trackers.
Also, if I go at settings and delete 2nd tracker (both description and number) and after I press apply settings, I use also exit app to be sure that it the delete will work. After rerunning the app, 2nd tracker field is empty but when I go to main screen, I can see next to "selected tracker" field  the deleted tracker's details (both description and number)!  neutral
Maybe the application has some problem handling more than one tracker?

Also, I wanted to know if I can donate to you through Paypal for this very useful app.  smile

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

-> on the left side you should enter a name you can remember
-> on the right side you should enter the trackers' phone number

the last tracker number you've clicked becomes yellow (selected)
when you press Apply Settings, this number is being used.

If you delete a number you were using, but don't select another the App will remember the last one you picked. Look at the settings screen with numbers as a phone book. I can also use the phonebook application to pick numbers. But haven't decided what I like better; numbers inside this app or numbers from the phonebook.

BUT
As far as I can see, everything is working alright.
If you can point me to something I'm missing -in your explaination- or something which indeed is going wrong; tell me!

nah .. don't worry. if you're happy with it. I'm happy.

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

I have problem with activating vibration command.
After sending 121xxxx I get back the SMS "Vibration sensor On ok".
But if I get back my settings with GTAS command, I get : VIB MODE OFF.
Shouldn't this be ON?

Re: TLT-2H Easy Setup for Android phones

I have 2 issues with the app.

The first one is: If i select to show Cut-off power and oil in the app settings, and then click save, it shows in the main screen.
After i closed the app and restart it again, the option is no longer in the main screen, and i have to select it again.

The second issue is not realy an issue.
I find the name TLT2H_Easy_Setup a bit of a strange name.
Ofcourse, you setup your device here, but afterwards it is an app, not a setup anymore.
I can live with this name, but something like TLT2H would do also.

But all together, great app!

It's not saved indeed. That can be cunfusing since it's in the app settings tab. Because this menu won't be used a lot, and it takes too much space on the screen, this setting isn't saved. When you need it you can enable it, and for all the other times you start the app .. it won't be shown.

This App is built as an help to set-up the tracker. But it can be used to track (sms mode) and manage also. True. Still, the basic idea of the app is helping one to setup the device. Also, you can setup other devices too. Not just the TLT-2H.

I have something simular.
If someone sends me a tekst message, the app shows a icon in the statusbar. (app is not running then).
The app does nothing with it, but it is somewhat anoying :p
Would it be possible to let the app only react at tekst messages from the tracker?
I have set the tracker number in the settings. (Tracker name and Tracker number)

I can live with it, but it would be an improvement.
Now it is like someone sends me a facebook message and whatsapp shows an icon that i received a message wink
