Hello

I have an intermittent problem that shows up every now and then. The problem is basically that tracking does not get updated for few minutes and sometimes even hours.

I am trying to figure out if this a server-related problem, a problem caused by my tracking device, or a network provider problem.

My tracker is a TK103-2 pointing to Server IP: 193.193.165.166 and Server port: 20462.

So, whenever I notice this problem I call my tracker but it does reply back with an SMS giving an updated true location. So, it is not a problem with my tracker.

Now, I need your advice to figure out what is causing this problem and how to solve it?

alidubais, by sending an SMS you literally manually request your tracker to respond to you.

Never try to compare SMS with sending data to a server. SMS is a very simple approach while server (TCP/UDP connection) requires continuous automated work of a device.

I may suggest that you device goes into a sleep mode. I do not have any solution. You better clarify such questions with the manufacturer.

 

From our side I can the device just stops sending data at some point:

Thanks for your prompt reply.

I have now disabled the sleep mode. However, the car was actually stopped during the period of time you have indicated above. So, sleep mode was ok at that time.

In addition, the car might sometimes be moving when tracking stops updating. So, I don't think the sleep mode is the cause of this problem. Because sleep mode will only start when the car is stopped.

Can you for example check if the device was sending any updates during this period: 15:00hrs to 16:00hrs on Nov. 22?

The car was moving during this period, but tracking was not available until 16:36.

alidubais, what is your time zone?

Logs are in the GMT+3 tz, so I need to know which time to look for.

Yes, GMT+3 is my time zone. So, 15:00 to 16:00 is the correct time.

I have the same problem.

 

Afther 31.12.2017 track list is not beeing updated at all. 

Unit is online but i dont have any tracking informations.

Adnan.H, your device is working and sending data.

Last message was received on 2018-01-05 at 09:19:44.

I do not see any issues here.

 

I would still recommend to update your device firmware as there is an issue with the teltonika devices.

If my device is sending data, why that data is not shown on your tracking site ?

On above link you have picture that shows that unit was working properly until 31.12.2017.

Since 1.1.2018. not a single data is shown on your tracking site.

 

Data msgs until 31.12.2017.
 
Data msgs since 1.1.2018.
 
As you can see, device works (sending data) 
but Tracking is not showing on your site.

Adnan.H, the data is shown at our site and you can see it on your own second second screenshot.

But pay attention all the messages have 0 speed.

Tracks a built by trips only and if the speed is 0 so no trips are detected and therefore no tracks a built.

 

You are facing a device issue. Contact teltonika for further assistance.
